Online Treatment for Alcohol Use Disorder

Alcohol use disorder is a medical condition. It responds to medical treatment. At Bayani Health & Wellness, you can access board-certified physician-led care for AUD privately, through secure telehealth, without involving your insurance or primary care provider.

What Is Alcohol Use Disorder?

Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is a chronic medical condition involving a pattern of alcohol use that causes significant distress or impairment. It exists on a spectrum — from mild to severe — and does not require daily drinking or loss of functioning to meet a clinical diagnosis.

Many people with AUD are high-functioning: they hold demanding jobs, maintain relationships, and appear fine on the outside — while privately experiencing cravings, loss of control, withdrawal symptoms, or a growing sense that alcohol is affecting their health and their life.

AUD is not a willpower problem.

It is a brain chemistry problem — and it responds to evidence-based medical treatment.

How We Treat Alcohol Use Disorder

Step 1: Evaluation and Diagnosis

Your first visit is a thorough private consultation with our board-certified addiction medicine specialist physician. We review your history, current alcohol use patterns, health status, and goals — and work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan.

Step 2: Medication-Assisted Treatment

We prescribe FDA-approved medications that reduce alcohol cravings, diminish the reinforcing effects of alcohol, and support abstinence or reduction in drinking. These may include:

  • Naltrexone — reduces cravings and the pleasurable effects of alcohol; available in oral or extended-release injectable form
  • Acamprosate — helps reduce withdrawal-related discomfort and support abstinence
  • Other medications — based on your individual clinical picture and physician recommendation

Medication-assisted treatment is the most evidence-supported approach to AUD — and at Bayani Health & Wellness, it is only the beginning.

Step 3: Ongoing Physician Follow-Up

You will have regular follow-up visits with your physician to review your progress, adjust your treatment plan as needed, and address any concerns. Between visits, you can contact our medical team by phone or text.

Step 4: Whole-Person Recovery Support

Once you are stable on treatment, we introduce the next layer of care: physician-guided nutrition and movement support. We provide evidence-based guidance on plant-forward eating patterns and a personalized exercise prescription — tools that support brain recovery, mood, sleep, and long-term wellness. This is medicine, not wellness marketing.

Is This Program Right for You?

Our alcohol use disorder program may be a strong fit if you:

  • Drink more than you intend to, or have tried to cut back without success
  • Experience cravings for alcohol or feel you need it to relax or function
  • Are concerned about how alcohol is affecting your health, relationships, or work
  • Want help but need treatment to stay completely private
  • Prefer not to enter a residential program or attend in-person group sessions
  • Want to work with a physician, not a counselor or a coaching app

You do not need to be in crisis to qualify for care. If alcohol is becoming a problem, that is enough reason to seek treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at hello@bayanihealth.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Not necessarily. Your physician will discuss abstinence versus harm-reduction goals with you based on your clinical situation. For some patients, abstinence is the appropriate goal; for others, significant reduction in use is a meaningful first step. We will work with you based on your individual circumstances.

Naltrexone has been FDA-approved for alcohol use disorder since 1994 and has a strong safety record. Your physician will review your health history before prescribing to ensure it is appropriate for you.

Relapse is a recognized part of the recovery process for many people, not a reason to end treatment. If you experience a relapse, we work with you — not against you — to understand what happened and adjust your treatment plan accordingly. Our program is designed for real life, not perfect performance.
