How Our Private Addiction Treatment Works

Our process is designed to be simple, private, and free of unnecessary friction. Here is what to expect from your first contact through ongoing care.

Before You Begin

No Referral, No Insurance Needed

You do not need a referral from your primary care provider.

You do not need to involve your health insurance.

You can contact us directly, schedule your first appointment, and begin treatment — without anyone else knowing you're here.

If you have questions before scheduling, you can request a private consultation by phone or through our website form. We will answer your questions and help you determine whether Bayani Health is right for you.

Step 1. Schedule Your First Appointment

Schedule your first appointment online or call/text our office at 253-389-4881. Appointments are typically available within 48 hours. You will receive a confirmation with instructions for your secure telehealth visit — including how to access the platform and what to have ready.

We will ask you to complete a brief intake form before your visit so your physician can review your health history in advance.

Step 2: Your First Visit - Evaluation and Treatment Planning

Your first appointment is a private, secure video visit with our addiction medicine specialist physician. This visit typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes. Your physician will:

  • Review your health history and current symptoms
  • Discuss your substance use history, patterns, and goals
  • Order any necessary labs or assessments
  • Recommend a treatment plan, including medication if appropriate
  • Answer your questions thoroughly and honestly

There is no pressure and no judgment. This is a clinical conversation between you and your physician.

Step 3. Begin Treatment

If medication-assisted treatment is appropriate, your physician will prescribe through a Washington State pharmacy of your choice. You do not need to visit a clinic or a pharmacy in person — many pharmacies offer delivery.

  • For alcohol use disorder: medications may include naltrexone or acamprosate
  • For opioid use disorder: medication includes buprenorphine (Suboxone) with physician-guided at-home induction

Step 4. Ongoing Follow-up and Monitoring

You will have regular follow-up visits with your physician — typically every two to four weeks initially, with visits spacing out as you stabilize. Between visits, you can contact our team directly by phone or text.

Your physician will monitor your progress, adjust your medications as needed, and work with you through any challenges that arise — including relapse, which we treat as a clinical event, not a reason to end care.

You'll also have ongoing direct access to our physicians between visits. No waiting for days until someone responds.

Step 5. Whole-Person Recovery - Nutrition and Movement

When you are stable on treatment — typically meaning consistent medication adherence and no recent relapses — your physician will introduce the next phase of Bayani Health's program. This is a physician-prescribed component of your recovery plan that includes:

  • Nutrition guidance — focused on plant-forward eating patterns shown to support brain health, mood regulation, and metabolic recovery
  • Movement prescription — a personalized exercise plan calibrated to your current fitness level, health status, and recovery goals

Addiction disrupts the body as well as the brain. These physician-directed lifestyle interventions address the physical dimension of recovery in a way that medication alone cannot.

If you have more questions, please request an introductory call with our physician, who can answer your questions about treatment and learn more about the care we provide.

What to Expect When Starting Treatment

Starting treatment can feel uncertain — especially if you’ve tried to stop before.

While everyone’s experience is different, many patients find the first few weeks to be a period of adjustment and stabilization.

Beginning Buprenorphine Treatment

When starting buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder, many patients may notice:

  • Reduced cravings
  • Improved stability
  • Fewer highs and lows throughout the day

It’s also common to experience an adjustment period as your body responds to treatment. Your physician will guide treatment decisions, monitor how you’re feeling, answer questions, and make changes as needed throughout your treatment.

The goal is to help you feel more balanced, functional, and supported — not sedated or disconnected.

Beginning Treatment for Alcohol Use Disorder

When beginning medical treatment for alcohol use disorder, some patients may notice:

  • Reduced urge to drink
  • Less preoccupation with alcohol
  • Changes in how alcohol affects them, if they do drink

As with any medical treatment, responses vary. Your physician will guide treatment decisions and work with you to find an approach that feels manageable and supportive, while monitoring both physical and emotional well-being.

Ongoing Support Matters

At Bayani Health & Wellness, your treatment journey is not something you'll navigate alone. Regular follow-up visits allow your physician to:

  • Check in on how you’re feeling
  • Adjust treatment if needed
  • Address concerns or side effects
  • Support steady progress over time

Many patients find that having consistent medical support during the early weeks makes treatment feel safer and more sustainable.

Many common concerns are answered in our treatment FAQ.
