Seeking Help Is an Act of Courage

The name Bayani comes from the Filipino word for "hero" — someone who acts with courage, compassion, and honor in the face of difficulty. We chose this name deliberately.

Asking for help with addiction is not weakness. It is one of the harder things a person can do — particularly when your career, reputation, or family is part of what you're trying to protect.

Bayani Health & Wellness was founded to offer a better path: private, physician-led addiction medicine that meets people where they are, treats them with the respect they deserve, and aims not just to interrupt substance use, but to restore health.

Our Mission

To make evidence-based addiction care available to adults who want help, without unnecessary barriers, without stigma, and without sacrificing privacy.

We serve people who are ready to take the first step. Our role is to make that step as medically sound, confidential, and practical as possible.

Every person who comes to Bayani Health & Wellness brings a unique story — and deserves care that honors that.

Dr. Herrington received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and his master's degree in public health from The Ohio State University. He is dual board-certified in Addiction Medicine and General Preventive Medicine & Public Health — a combination that reflects both his depth of expertise in treating substance use disorders and his commitment to whole-person, population-informed care.

Dr. Herrington served as medical director for several in-person addiction medicine clinics, where he saw first-hand how stigma, visibility, and logistical barriers prevented people from getting care they were ready to receive. His work at Bayani Health & Wellness solves that problem — bringing specialist-level addiction medicine into a private, flexible telehealth model.

Dr. Herrington approaches every patient relationship with the understanding that addiction is a medical condition, not a moral failure. His clinical philosophy is grounded in evidence, delivered with respect, and committed to long-term outcomes rather than short-term compliance.

Dr. David received her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and her master's degree in public health from the University of South Florida. Her training spans internal medicine, occupational and environmental medicine, and lifestyle medicine — a breadth that directly informs the whole-person recovery model at Bayani Health & Wellness.

Dr. David brings decades of personal and clinical experience with plant-based nutrition and physical fitness to her practice. She is the founder of Bayani Health & Wellness and the architect of the clinic’s lifestyle medicine component — the nutrition and movement guidance that distinguishes our program from practices that treat addiction with medication alone.

She understands that recovery involves the entire body, not just abstinence from a substance. Her goal for every patient is not just stability, but genuine restoration of physical and mental health.

Our Approach to Care

At Bayani Health & Wellness, the way we practice is as important as what we practice.

Physician-Led at Every Step

Every patient at Bayani Health is cared for by a licensed MD physician. You are not handed off to counselors, coaches, or automated tools. Your physician evaluates you, designs your treatment, adjusts your plan, and remains your primary point of contact throughout your care.

Evidence-Based Treatment

We prescribe medications with strong clinical evidence behind them. We do not recommend unproven approaches or substitute wellness trends for medical care. What we offer is grounded in what has been shown to work.

Whole-Person Recovery

Addiction disrupts brain chemistry, metabolism, sleep, energy, and physical health. Our program addresses all of it — through medication when appropriate, and through physician-guided nutrition and movement support when you are stable and ready. Recovery is not just the absence of substance use. It is the return to health.

Privacy as a Core Value

We are a direct-pay practice. We do not bill insurance. Your records are protected under 42 CFR Part 2. You will never be seen in a waiting room. We hold confidentiality not just as a legal obligation, but as a clinical value — and it shapes every decision we make about how care is delivered.

Our Values

We stand for:

  • Respect — No shame. No judgment. Ever.
  • Integrity — Clear communication, honest expectations, transparent pricing.
  • Empathy — We understand what it takes to make this call.
  • Excellence — Specialist-level care delivered with the rigor it deserves.
  • Discretion — Privacy is not a feature of our practice. It is the foundation.
