Get to know our practice by reviewing some of the most frequently asked questions below. You can also contact us at hello@bayanihealth.com if you can't find an answer to your question.
No. We believe that we can provide people with better, more cost-effective treatment using a direct pay model for our practice, where patients pay a fee every three months to receive care. Caring for you via this model eliminates arbitrary insurance regulations that aren't always in the patient's best interest clinically. For these reasons, our clinic doesn’t accept health insurance and can't guarantee that membership fees will be reimbursed by your insurance company. Furthermore, our physicians have voluntarily opted-out of Medicare; if you have Medicare and wish to be a Bayani patient, you will need to sign a waiver stating that you will not submit your membership fees to Medicare for reimbursement.
A direct pay practice is an innovative alternative payment model that gives you a greater degree of access to, and time with, physicians. Modeled after direct primary care practices, Bayani gives you more personalized care and extended, relaxed clinical visits with our specialist physicians. You'll also have full access to our team via telephone, secure text messaging, or secure messaging through your Patient Portal if you have non-emergency questions. Ultimately, you'll benefit from a closer doctor-patient relationship, while receiving excellent care.
A direct-pay medical practice is a membership-based health care model. Your membership includes the initial assessments, routine telehealth visits, customized nutrition plans, exercise prescriptions, and stress management programs. It also includes direct access to our team via telephone calls, secure text messaging, or secure messaging through your Patient Portal. There are no co-pays required.
There is a one-time enrollment fee when you first sign up. Membership is offered in three-month sessions. If you find the direct-pay model or our practice is not fitting your medical needs, you may cancel the membership in writing through text or email at any time. However, in order to build a healthy doctor-patient relationship, please note that there is a re-enrollment fee if you decide to sign up again after cancelling. Please navigate to our Membership Fees page for more details on pricing.
The membership fee includes the initial telehealth assessments, routine telehealth visits, prescriptions electronically delivered to your pharmacy, customized nutrition plans, personalized exercise prescriptions, and stress management programs. The membership fee also includes full access to our team via telephone calls, secure text messaging, or secure messaging through your Patient Portal.
Yes! We can enroll you as a member at the non-SUD membership rate; please see our Membership Fees page for more details. Your membership still includes the initial assessment via telehealth appointment, customized nutrition plans, personalized exercise prescriptions, and stress management programs. It also includes the same full access to our team via telephone calls, secure text messaging, or secure messaging through your Patient Portal.
No. The Bayani Health & Wellness membership is not an insurance plan and not a substitute for health insurance or other health plan coverage. It will not cover hospital services or any services other than what are described in the How We Can Help You section of our homepage.
Yes. Bayani's direct-care practice is not health insurance, and you still need protection for major medical problems that may strike. If you appreciate the low fees and quality of care associated with direct-care practices and wish to find a direct primary care provider, we can help refer you to some practices in our area.
No, our practice offers addiction treatment and lifestyle medicine specialty services. Our focus is on helping patients manage alcohol use disorder and opioid use disorder via medication-assisted treatment, nutrition, exercise, and sleep/stress management. This holistic approach goes beyond using medications alone, so that patients can truly reclaim their health and feel better.
Our services are also beneficial to patients who do not have a substance use disorder! We help folks embark on a new health journey by assisting with plant-focused nutrition, graded safe exercise, and stress management to treat chronic conditions like hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and others; please visit the American College of Lifestyle Medicine's website to learn more about this medical specialty. Our lifestyle medicine approach can work hand-in-hand with the medications your primary care provider prescribes in order to achieve your best health.
Of course! We are not a primary care provider, so we strongly encourage you to continue receiving primary care services from your own primary care provider. At your request, we are happy to communicate with your primary care provider regarding your care at Bayani.
If you are experiencing an urgent medical condition, please contact your local urgent care or your primary care provider. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1. Please do not delay care by contacting our office or waiting for an appointment.
